The Performance outfitting system was born from the desire to offer the benefits of the Elite system, with the familiar feel that paddlers are accustomed to having.

The first thing we wanted to do was keep as much of the ability to adjust the outfitting system as one unit, without tools, and in seconds.

The seat, backband and footbrace adjusts with the same system as the Elite Outfitting, moving as a single unit.

The main break from the Elite system is the thigh brace (on the Mad Boy) attaches to the cockpit to give paddlers the sort of deck contact they are accustomed to, while still maintaining an effective exit opening for emergencies.

While the thigh wings of the Elite system are an option that can be easily screwed into the provided seat inserts, the boats come with a more traditional hip pad for of bracing that is adjusted by adding or removing foam shivs from a velcro closed pouch.

The backband is a more traditional nylon style, without the forward cant and tilt, offering a softer more “comfortable” feel, that secures the paddler into the kayak by tightening it through seat mounted  ratchets. However, unlike most systems, the backbad is not attached to the deck, allowing it to maintain the same angle to your body regardless of where the seat is moved.

Overall, with the padded seat, hips and backband, the Performance Outfitting offers a comfortable and effective system of bracing into your kayak, no matter what the river throws at you.
